Review for San Diego County Medical Society Foundation, San Diego, CA, USA
Project Access San Diego embodies what not-for-profit healthcare does best, at its essence. They help people who otherwise would not receive care to get access to the right care, at the right time, from the right professionals, without regard to their ability to pay. Their healthcare access coordinators help low-income San Diegans navigate the highly confusing, disjointed healthcare system so that they can get lifesaving and life-enhancing care from highly regarded professionals who are volunteering their services. My hats off to the physicians and staff of San Diego County Medical Society Foundation for providing this much-needed, highly beneficial service to those in San Diego who otherwise wouldn't have anywhere to turn.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Their Surgery Days are a wonder to behold. People who otherwise would not receive surgery (or people who have waiting months or years for surgery) get access to outpatient surgical care that changes their lives - allowing them to return to work, become pain-free, or care for their families again.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
FInd a way to have this organization's work better funded so they don't have to worry, year-to-year, whether they will be able to continue their important work.
