I went to girls ranch in 1998 and had a wonderful experience. My house mother genuinely cared for us troubled teens. I was not happy to be there but I learned self responsibility, respect for my self, elders and friends. I have nothing but good memories of this place and would recommend to anyone with a troubled teen that needs to learn self love and care. I had chores and responsible for myself like cooking and cleaning my own laundry and being responsible for my grades and homework. You earn privileges like going to mall or movies. We even went to see Phantom of the Oprah, a wonderful experience that I will always cherish. If you had a bad experience it's because you fought the help that was there for you, not their lack of care.
