Virginia Organizing is a great non-profit to be involved with! I went to my first chapter meeting in 2019 and have continued to get more involved as time goes by. I had been looking for a way to be more involved in my community for a while, so I was very excited to be invited to a chapter meeting. Through this organization I have made many new connections and friendships. I have been able to see and feel my voice be heard both locally and state-wide. The learning opportunities that V.O. provides are great! They teach you about the history of policies in Virginia, how to get others involved, there are workshops held to teach new skills and experts and guest speakers are included in these as well! I love that my community can come together and share what we value and want to see happen around us and have the support of this great organization behind us to navigate any red tape. Virginia Organizing does an amazing job at ensuring that the voices of historically marginalized and oppressed communities are being heard by our community leaders.
