Statement Arts is one of the best organizations I have worked with. The community building, social-emotional care, and art instruction that is provided through their programming is breathtaking. I worked as the social-work intern for summer 2021 and all I can say (and hope) is that more young people continue to be guided and supported by Statement Arts. The staff, interns, and young people involved are dynamic, caring people. Liza and her staff holistically support each student and the growth I noticed, in only 3 weeks, is unmet. I wish this program could be offered to every New York high schooler. The impact of Statement Arts will stay with me, and I believe with the students, for years to come.
