I joined Virginia Organizing not long after the 2016 election. I was shocked at the election's outcome and wanted to be involved in something positive and something that would help me feel like I
was making a difference.
Five years
years later I am still an active member of the Waynesboro Chapter. I have learned so much and have been given so many opportunities to participate with local and state government and been to many wonderful trainings. I had no experience with community organizing before I started with Virginia Organizing. It has given me a sense of empowerment which has replaced the helplessness that made me feel such despair after the election. I can highly recommend this organization and its work to anyone who wants to learn about the workings of their local government, the issues that affect their lives and about the people in their community.
