A few years ago a friend of mine challenged me to do a 10K run with him, and I agreed to it bc it was associated with TMF and I had heard about this “local” charitable organization.
When I attend the run I was stunned to see how many people turned out and how well organized it was. During the welcome I sat in the stands and got to hear about Travis, his family, and the way they have turned their devastating loss into a mission that brings so much gain to so many people. I had no idea that this “local” charity was already national in scope. So, Im truly proud on a number of fronts. First, TMF employees exude a motivation for their mission and clearly they do their work in a first class and transparent manner. From working in the non-profit world, I know that getting to where “they” are is rarely done without a depth of integrity. Second, it is fair to say that TMF’s star shines brightly on this community at large and I think that theres now a sort of mutual care that TMF and the local community share in furthering each others betterment. That’s a pretty cool place to be for a profit or nonprofit ! Finally, I love a good success story , especially those that are born out of hardship or make it through struggle. Way to go TMF. Happy to know you and proud to be your neighbor.
