As the number of adults 60 and older increases, so does the need for programs and services to meet the health and physical needs of this population. When needs are met whether it be physical needs such as a ride to the doctors, or health and wellness needs such as exercise and educational opportunities, the quality of one's life is maintained or improved. This is the goal of senior centers stretching across the United States to bring activities, socialization and volunteer opportunities, programs, and enrichment to help senior adults age with dignity. Shepherd's Center of America helps community organizations network together for the betterment of all.
We have been very thankful to be part of The Shepherd's Centers of America. The opportunity to be able to network with other senior centers not only in our region but throughout the United States is extremely valuable. During the recent pandemic, it was especially helpful to hear from other senior centers and to brainstorm with them how we could alter our delivery of services and programs to ensure the safety of our recipients while still meeting the growing need.
Shepherd's Center of America has proved to be a great resource for networking, problem-solving and general advice.
We believe that Sara, the Executive Director, has been extremely influential in making this nonprofit a success not only for the senior centers who belong to the organization and participate in the opportunities they offer but also to the program and service recipients who benefit from programming directed at them and their needs.
