Review for The Borgen Project, Tacoma, WA, USA
Hello all! I was a political affairs intern for The Borgen Project during the summer of 2021. To sum up my experience, it was marvelous. I truly enjoyed my time with The Borgen Project and learned many valuable skills that could be used in my future employment. For the most part, the internship was very flexible, especially since I was taking summer courses and doing other work. This remote, 12-hour per week internship allows anyone interested in politics to gain foreign policy and nonprofit experience. One person even offered me a foreign policy research position because of my time with The Borgen Project. As a Political Affairs Intern, most of your tasks are very simple and clear, whether it's get 10 people to email congress or post on social media. However, you can really make this internship into your own by getting creative and communicating with your manager. Overall, some people may complain about the work, but you really need to come in with a positive, active, and creative attitude to thrive. I highly recommend this internship for people looking for any experience relating to politics, fundraising, lobbying, foreign policy, and nonprofits. You'll want this on your resume.
