Review for San Diego Brain Injury Foundation, San Diego, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The San Diego Brain Injury Foundation helps so many brain injury survivors, their families, friends and the entire San Diego community. They do this by reaching out in whatever way they can to engage their beneficiaries. Programming includes opportunities to connect, to curb the isolation, loneliness and at times challenges faced in everyday life. Monthly meetings in person, Zoom conversations, mentoring, interactive cultural/art programming, exercise and activity, all supported and enhanced by a vibrant and state of the art website.

There is such communication, dedication and involvement from the staff, to ensure no one that needs services is left behind. This is what makes the SDBIF so magical and important. And, the SDBIF is looking to offer even more opportunities in the future. I have volunteered for this organization for close to ten years. This community is so special and I am so grateful to be a part of their continued growth and service!!!

"Making the world a better place through action" has always been my mantra. The San Diego Brain Injury Foundation does just that; it gives hope, resources, advocacy and time to those affected with a brain injury and their families. From monthly get togethers, art programming, Zoom opportunities, website and outreach, the SDBIF continues to explore ways for brain injury survivors and their families to stay connected. It is a community that uplifts its members in support, love and hope. I am proud to call myself a volunteer for the SDBIF. Robin Nelson, Volunteer

SDBIF is all about support! Support for individuals living with brain injuries. Support for families and loved ones navigating challenges in care through continued education, speakers’ series, referrals, and follow-up. SDBIF supports creative hands-on programming such as creative arts classes, life skills meetings, movement, and additional Zoom programming based on community need. SDBIF engages community by making their services accessible to all, no matter the circumstances. SDBIF builds community by bringing survivors together through community events. As a volunteer for SDBIF, I have never worked with an organization that shares so much heart, compassion, knowledge and understanding for each unique and special brain injury survivor they serve. Yes, SDBIF has served the community for over 30 years and will for many years to come! So proud of the work they do and the hope they instill in the lives of the individuals they serve.

The San Diego Brain Injury Foundation (SDBIF) shares hope and support to brain injury survivors and their families. The resources available open the doors to independence and opportunity through continued educational programming, hands-on experiences, community-showcased events and involvement. I am a proud and dedicated volunteer with the SDBIF. I am continually impressed with the way SDBIF understands that each brain injury is different and takes the time to care...As a volunteer, survivor, family member or friend, SDBIF honors, celebrates and reinforces "I am here, I matter, I have a voice."
