Review for Shadow Cats Rescue, Round Rock, TX, USA
As a current volunteer for Shadow Cats, I see firsthand the excellent care this nonprofit gives to all the sanctuary cats, and also how committed they are to serving the community by helping to provide for cats in need. Their new community room will be used for various projects, such as education, crafting and TNR clinics that will start this month.
I was fortunate enough to be able to adopt two very special tuxie kitties that found their way to Shadow Cats. They were initially thought to be FeLV positive but upon further testing were negative. These two boys are the light of my life and they would never have joined my family without the help of Shadow Cats!

I started volunteering with Shadow Cats about 2 years ago. I had recently retired and decided that I could finally do something that I really wanted to do - help cats! This particular sanctuary appealed to me because of its work with special needs cats. They have such an amazing group of people, both staff and volunteers, totally focused on helping these cats live their best lives. They also assist the local community with various funds and other outreach programs such as TNR. This is such a generous, hard-working group of people and you can see it when you visit the sanctuary. You can tell that all the cats are loved deeply.
My husband and I just adopted two cats from them, Barry and Digby, and they are the light of our lives! Barry was rescued from a shelter in Ft. Worth, skinny and losing his hair. Digby was in a hoarding situation and had lost one of his eyes. I was fortunate enough to watch them get healthier and happier each day they were at Shadow Cats. We finally decided that we needed these two boys with us and I think it was life-changing for us all - definitely for the better!
Shadow Cats is everything you'd want in a sanctuary for special needs cats, and I am so very proud to be one of their volunteers!

I came into contact with Shadow Cats by accident (and luck!) a few years ago. My first impression was how remarkably clean everything was. I continue to be impressed with how exceptionally well this place is managed. With close to 100 special needs cats to take care of every single day, the staff and volunteers of Shadow Cats have their hands full. This sanctuary is run like a well-oiled machine, always with the best interest of the cats at the forefront. Once I "retired", I joined the team as a volunteer. I often think how lucky I am that I have this amazing place where I can go and make a difference!
