I found Big Cat Rescue when I was at a low point in my life and as I watched the cats go through their hard times I started to fight harder as they did. I started to chat with the women in the lives and started to learn more about the mission and came to learn that we need to stop cub petting and stop backyard breeders and zoos from selling the cats to private owners. Carole is an inspiration to me and even though I have not met her I know that she is an honest, caring, loving and has the passion for her cats and cause that I strive to have in my own life. I am now a moderator on Facebook and the women that I work with all have the same goal and passion to get the Big Cat Public Safety act passed. We are not just here to meet people we are volunteering because we have the passion to make the cats lives better. The women are like my family and so are the cats. There was a tiger Zabu and a lion Cameron that lived together and Big Cat Rescue saved then from a horrible place. They had some health issues but that did not stop the two loving each other even though they were from different species. I think the world could have learned how to love from them. Pryia a tiger was saved from a breeder that over bred her and she never got to raise any of her cubs as they were taken for pay to play schemes. When she got to BCR she was very ill and almost died. She now has a beautiful enclosure with a lake she can swim in and no longer had to breed for people to make money. Big Cat Rescue also rescued 3 male tigers from a circus in Guatemala. They will never have to be beaten or forced to perform ever again. The cats are happy and I could tell you about Aria who was neglected and had gapping cuts to the bone on her and now she is healed and still has issues with the scars, but all the cats here are happy and know love and never have to be abused or neglected again.
