I have volunteered as a medical foster for rescues that have heart worm/Knee surgery/or other medical conditions since May 2016. I treat their ailment, transport them to the vet for check ups, and provide a calm environment for their recovery. I have medical Fostered 25 rescue dogs where 12 have gone on the be Service Dogs. The rest that did not make Service Dog status were adopted out to their adoption program where we adopted a German Shepard Soldier in April 2017. He is a very low energy dog that rather be a pet than do the work and helps me with the high strung two year old medical Fosters. I love going to campus to pick up food, vet tech check ups or attending a graduation of the monthly classes. That is where you get to see the family join the veteran and his battle buddy and realize that this dog will make a family function again.
