I'm a regular volunteer for Saffyre and this place is giving me the sanity and therapy I desperately need right now with a stressful job. Plus since I can't have pet's in my apartment it's like I have part time pets that I get to care for and which gives me a sense of purpose and makes me get out of my work mode head space and focus on caring for living creatures who deserve a safety and love.
I never worked with horses before I started volunteering here about 2 years ago and I have learned SO much about equine care, health, enrichment, diet, and horsemanship from Esta and her team. This place is truly special that they are willing to teach people with no prior equine experience the basics of horse care where is many animal rescues you often don't get much animal interaction at all. And being entirely volunteer run it's lovely to meet other people that just love horses and want to give back to the community. I love every minute I'm there and getting to know each horse individually. I've even been able to bond with the ones that have some behavior challenges and it's so rewarding to look back at when I was intimidated by them and seeing them now enjoy my touch and clearly feel as ease and care for when I'm there.
