In 2020, I newly retired and wondering what to do with my free time when the pandemic shut down NYC. Friends had recently started volunteering at the Commonpoint Y's food pantry and suggested that I contact the Y about sewing masks for healthcare workers, nursing homes, and Commonpoint staff. Sewing masks opened the door to other volunteer activities and I discovered the amazing work that Commonpoint performs daily.

The Commonpoint Y has multiple aspects, it provides support through job training, child care, and food delivery programs and it nurtures the mind and body with lectures and activities and volunteer opportunities. It is a place you should explore and utilize the wonderful services it offers.
