I came upon BCR on social media a few times and it looked quite interesting. There was one time in particular when a tiger was being rescued from a circus in Peru. His name was Hoover and I watched him touch grass for the very first time. He put his big paws in the lake and splashed the water. I had to visit! The moment I stepped on property I saw these beautiful cats at peace. These formally abused, starved and neglected cats were being treated like royalty. The on site hospital and the enrichment was nothing like I had ever seen. I knew I would be back and I knew I would be a big part of this paradise for big cats. Once I learned the mission was to end captive cats and to end private ownership I asked how I could help. I asked to volunteer and have never looked back. Big Cat Rescue saves lives and gives a second chance to these apex predators! To me it is the best place ever!
