Get Lit provides such a special place for young people to express themselves. It is so much more than a literacy program. It is a place of belonging, comfort and encouragement that envelops young people while helping them find their voice - in addition to increasing high school graduation, college acceptable and scholarship rates. Every conversation I have had with or around Get Lit has always circled back to the kids...the poets. They are at the center of all organizational efforts.
