I’ve been a volunteer with Hands Of Esperanza for about 3 years and I’ve attended two trips to the Alta Verapaz region. The trip is very organized and safety is ensured by the on-the-ground coordination team with Avis, a non-profit located in Guatemala who coordinates transportation, accommodations, food, and local dialect translation. The core team at Hands Of Esperanza is an inspiration and I continue to volunteer with this group because they truly believe in the mission - to improve the long term health and wellness of communities in rural Guatemala.

For my part, I am non-clinical so I am usually a part of groups to build stoves and assemble clean water filtration systems within the homes. The clinical team will facilitate a “pop up” style clinic for the entire community.

It’s truly an amazing experience being a volunteer. Please consider donating valuable time or resources to this organization.
