Review for Robins Nest Of Indy Inc, Indianapolis, IN, USA

Rating: 1 stars

Wow, my story doesn't come close.

I found a kitten I fell in love with. I don't usually go for kittens, so much as older strays and even a few ferals. Our old man cat died a couple years ago and a couple months ago, we started looking for a kitten. I found this guy. I did the application and came back later to talk about adoption. I also called the appropriate person.

Initially, I was told he couldn't be adopted because he had a respiratory infection (common theme I'm seeing in these reviews), but a later text told me he'd just been neutered. Easy mistake to make since several kittens obviously DID have some sort of respiratory ailment. One poor little kitty was filthy and had stuff in his eyes. I came back up and the lady fostering him indicated that she didn't think anyone had adopted him. I told her I was interested in him and would do whatever I needed to. I provided a reference on the application; easy for me to do since well, we pet-sit for a lot of our friends. We also do stuff for the feral colony in our neighborhood, so I mean, reference? Easy.

We went back up later that day so my SO could meet him. He wasn't there. Nobody was. I texted Kay and asked if he was still available. No response.

next day, I asked again, via text. Nothing.

Long story short, I texted, called and went to Petco numerous times over the course of four days. I texted someone else after consulting the website. She got back with me and said she thought the cat had been adopted, but wasn't sure, so I went up. Cat's not there. I asked again. Nothing.

Look, I get that this is a volunteer thing but adoption shouldn't be an emotional roller coaster and lots of wasted time due to unresponsiveness. Also a bunch of those cats were sick. What the hell?

I've taken the issue up with Petco. I'll go through someone else.
