My own vet had no idea that FIV negative cats can live safely with FIV + cats. With the information I found from the https://www.fivcatrescue.org/ I have now brought the FIV positive stray, Tommy, into my home and am slowly introducing him to the five FIV negative cats in my family. Tommy had a lot of problems with his skin and ears living outside. He is now very healthy and happy inside. I did install a catio in a window so he still gets safe time outside.
