Review for Onyx Vizion Productions Inc, Bronx, NY, USA
Onyx Vizion (OVP) has been an awesome community agent for the arts as well as young people who are interested in the arts in underserved and underprivileged communities. I have been the Artistic Director for many of the projects and have had awesome support from this fine organization, which has supported my efforts as a playwright and composer to bring theatre to the communities that rarely get out to see musicals and plays. We have brought concerts celebrating all styles of music as well as employed artists from diverse backgrounds. OVP has presented work that addresses issues faced by all communities such as homelessness; violence and abuse; and acceptance and tolerance, just to name a few. In addition to producing concerts and theatre, OVP has taken inner city youth and given them an alternative to the terrible options the streets offer, catapulting them into an entire new reality: that their dreams can come true and they can do and be anything, far beyond the surroundings from which some of them come. They provided lessons and mentoring, free of charge, from in kind gifts from generous and willing artists and donors. This organization is not only a presenter of the arts, but also a ministry that speaks to and heals communities and people, utilizing the arts as a change agent. We must preserve the arts for the world as one of the strongest change agents of our time, past present, and future.

I have seen young performers from rivaling gangs and diverse backgrounds come together as a performance family and working in harmony. I watched many of them transform into awesome citizens and from OVP, learned the value of hard work and perseverance. With the help of OVP, many went on to college and are even still performing but now on a higher scale.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would develop a stronger board and get a team to make the presence of OVP more noticeable in the community and the world. I would also hire a grant writer.
