Review for Badger Run Wildlife Rehab, Klamath Falls, OR, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been a volunteer with this organization since 2012. Badger Run services an area of about 10,000 square miles in Southern Oregon. We do this with one grant-funded employee (our wildlife care manager) and a cadre of about a dozen volunteers. On top of our rescue/rehab duties we are also active in the community educating the public on how to be better stewards of the environment. We do this through many public presentations, on site tours, and social media. All donations go directly to animal care.

Review for Badger Run Wildlife Rehab, Klamath Falls, OR, USA

I have been a volunteer with Badger Run since 2012 & a board member since 2013. Currently I serve as President & Treasurer of the organization. Even though I serve on the board, I am still regularly involved hands on with animal care & our educational program averaging 100 hours of volunteer time monthly. We are committed to caring for sick, injured, & orphaned wildlife, but also in educating the public to make them better stewards of the environment. What started out of our founder's home in 2003 has grown to a facility that treats an average of 200 patients yearly fueled solely by donations & grants combined with the hard work of small & almost completely volunteer staff. Our single paid staff member is our wildlife care manager funded by a special grant which pays her a part time salary for full time work. All other monies raised go back into animal/medical care & keeping utilities, etc. paid. As a result we have been able to enhance our standard of patient care with on site capabilities (i.e. X-ray, blood chemistry, lead testing) not usually found at such modest facility. We have also been able to make our facility wheelchair accessible to offer more people access to our on-site educational program. I am proud to be associated with this organization.
