Homeward Bound is AWESOME! I've had rescue dogs my entire life and Homeward Bound is the best organization I've adopted from. We adopted our dog, Bailey, from them in March 2020 and the entire experience was outstanding. They responded quickly once I submitted an application and did a comprehensive background check to ensure the dog was going to a good home, which I appreciate. They really want a good match between the dogs they adopt out and the families who are adopting them; this was particularly important in my situation because we have two young girls and I was looking for a dog who was gentle and easy going. Homeward Bound was very honest and transparent about our dog's past and made sure Bailey was fully vetted before we were able to adopt her. The entire organization is run by volunteers so they don't have time to do a lot of meet and greets before you submit an application, but I guarantee you that they do the work up front to ensure you'll be a good match with the dog you end up adopting. I would adopt from them again in a minute, if my husband would let us have another dog!
