Review for Triangle Community Center Inc, Norwalk, CT, USA
The Triangle Community Center ("TCC") has really made a big impact on my life. So much so that I asked to join the board so that I could contribute to the community. TCC hosts support groups such as couples discussion, transmasculine group, AA, a youth group, a 20-something group and tons more. TCC also runs several social groups such as a bowling league, book clubs, women's socials and more. Recently TCC held a queer prom for local teens who needed a safe place to eat, dance and laugh together. I was present as a chaperon and I had a great time! We are constantly trying to answer the needs of the community and to keep the sense of community strong and alive in Fairfield County, CT. The newly renovated space and free WIFI access has really made TCC an ideal and safe place for the LGBTQI community to come hang out, meet people, laugh and love. I'm proud to serve on the board.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the community that it serves. We have met so many wonderfully diverse people be it their ages, backgrounds, financial status, etc. TCC is the tie that binds us all.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
not change a thing. :)
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the friendships I've made and the sense of feeling like I am giving back to my community that has done so much for me.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
hard-working and dedicated to doing all they can to make sure that the community's needs are well met.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
buy a bigger space and hire a director to run it. It could also hire staff so that it could be open 24/7 which would be so great for the community.
Ways to make it better...
more people would attend events and support their community.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
lack of membership/funding. It's difficult to keep the doors every month and we rely heavily on our members to continue to see and participate in TCC's vision.
One thing I'd also say is that...
the board members all work really hard to provide all we can for our local community and I hope that our efforts will cause a positive impact for as long as it takes.
