Review for Labrador Rescuers, San Diego, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Everyone says adopting a dog takes time. Throw Covid in to the mix and I discovered new things about my level of patience...or in my case lack thereof. I also went thru filling out applications for three dog adoption organizations in San Diego county, and Lab Rescue by far was the most professional and communicative. My advisor remained engaged via text and forwarded additional information about dogs I inquired about. She also made a point to find out about items that were specific to my home: must be ok with cats, another dog already in the home, walks and active life style, social etc. We ended up ruling a couple out based on information she gathered from the current foster families. My advocate also made a point to wish me luck before heading in to Meet & Greets, and followed up with me afterwards to see how it went. I really trusted her insights, gave consideration to her recommendations and I believe that is why everything worked out so wonderfully. Penny's foster sent her home with us with her blanket, food, treats and collar. Her foster really wanted to make sure Penny had as easy of an adjustment to her new home as possible. Once my adoption of Penny was completed (originally named Portia by LR, now Penny), the organization forwarded all her medical records, including those which arrived in LR hands after they mailed the original documents to me. I appreciate how the organization has everything in place for a smooth transfer of the microchip info to my account once the adoption is complete as well. This was my third adoption thru Lab Rescue, and after experiencing the lack of follow thru and unpleasant interrogation style interviews with two other San Diego dog adoption groups, I will encourage my friends and family to only work with Lab Rescue.
