I have been a Michaels employee in New Lenox Illinois for almost 2 years. I contacted Human resources because I recently lost my brother and stepfather to Covid 19. I support all the fundraisers and anything that Michaels have to support others in need. But when I inquired about help to bury my brother, I was told by human resources that Michaels Cares do not support brothers. I always thought immediate family consist of siblings. so in the future I will not support anything that will not support me. The bad part is another employee that has been there for years told me to inquire, because they helped him bury his mom. so when I mentioned what happened, all he could say is something isnt right with that. Human resources pick and choice who they would like to help. its sad....
