I had the privilege to chaperone a field trip hosted by Ben and Russ from the Keystone Elk Country Alliance. This field trip was to the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette, PA. High School students attended this field trip. During the 4 hours with our hosts, students had the opportunity to learn about the elk, their habitat, and local wildlife in and around Elk County. Students engaged in hands on activities including measuring antlers, going on a nature walk, exploring the visitor center, participating in an escape room activity, and watching a 4D movie. Both Ben and Russ were knowledgeable and engaging. I would highly recommend taking students (of all ages) to the Elk County visitor center and participate in the Keystone Elk Country Alliance presentations.
