Found a dog we were interested, filled the application and got a call from a foster within a few days. No house inspection or hardly had any question asked about us. They do not allow a trial period, don't return money if it does not work out, and we were told basically the first meet and greet was the only chance to know about the dog. We scheduled meeting this dog on weekend, and in the whole week before the weekend, we tried to gather all info about adoption policy, about this dog, "what if" scenarios, etc. so that we can prepare possible problems after adopting this dog. She said his favorite play is toys, so we went to get toys, doggy proofed house, got pee-training sheets etc. We were excited. The foster lady answered our first 3 questions, but from 4th email she basically ignored us and just before weekend, said, "You should get something which has more info." and turned down the meeting. She didn't say if this dog was heartworm tested, if it does not work out we can select another dog, etc. - simple questions about a dog, and about a policy. If she didn't know, she could have simply say, she didn't know and try to get info, which she didn't do. Also, the web site says adoption fees for puppies and fees for adult dogs which are one year and older. This dog is a y.o. but has puppy fee, so we asked if dog was in fact younger than 1 y.o. - she never answered. Something is not quite right. Their adoption fee is higher than many other non profit, no trial, no returning money, then we expect a thorough support and service until adopting a dog. We were very disappointed.
