I had been trying to adopt for months, going through every organization I could find, applying for dog after dog. I kept getting denied again and again, mostly because I was a “first time dog owner”. I felt I was being treated so unfairly because I have more experience with dogs than most and I have wanted one of my own for so long. Then I came across PAWS and although I wasn’t a right fit for the first dog I applied for, the coordinator saw my passion and wanted to help me. She took the time to find another dog that she thought would be a great fit for me and set me up with his coordinator. I’m so glad she did because it kickstarted the process of bringing my Alfie into his new forever home. The volunteers of PAWS were friendly, polite, helpful and efficient. The process went much quicker than anticipated, especially after applying elsewhere for months on end, and next thing I know I’m speaking with the foster. He was also great and let me set up a meet and greet and I ended up taking Alfie home that same day. I’m so grateful for everyone I worked with and would absolutely recommend working with PAWS. Overall best experience I had with a pet adoption agency and I worked with at least a dozen. So thank you all!
