Review for Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary, Floyd, VA, USA
I always wanted to keep bees in my garden. I learned they are a blessing to have and in return for taking good care of them, they will pollinate all my fruit trees. I heard of spikenard's biodynamic bee practices and I knew it will meet my expectations. I attended several of their webinars, led by a great instructor, Alex Tuchman. I was not sure how I will learn bee keeping from watching an on line course. I found that Tuchman has a great gift of taking a complex, hands on subject and turning it around into simple logical steps. His patience to answer questions, no matter how basic they are, his ability to listen without passing judgement on mistakes and his vast knowledge of the bee world, made him the best instructor I have ever met.
This spring, I was gifted with a bee swarm that now resides in my Farah (Arabic word for Joy) Beehive. Tuchman was very detailed in explaining how to catch a swarm and take of care of it throughout the year. I remain grateful for Tuchman's guidance in getting me started on beekeeping journey, following nature's footsteps.
