I got paralyzed snowboarding February 11, 1999. Since my injury I have played a lot of wheelchair sports around the United States. The one sport I have missed and thought I would never do again was mountain biking. At first it was because they didn’t make off-road hand cycles. Nowadays they make them but they are way out of my price range. With the grant from the High Fives Foundation my 20 year dream is now becoming a reality. I can’t wait to get back on the trails and go places I haven’t seen in over 20 years. I thank the High Fives Foundation for this and I look forward to helping them with their mission to help others.
