Review for Persian Rescue Network Inc, Fort Lee, NJ, USA
The author of the 10/17 review clearly did not understand the mission and purpose of this organization. PRN is not a rescue and does not claim to be. They do not have animals in their care and do not facilitate adoptions. They are a national network for rescues to share their adoptable animals with potential adopters, and for others to inform rescues of Persians/Zots/Himmies in need of rescue. They also support the efforts of rescues nationwide.
It is true that they do not promote or encourage long-distance transport and will not help facilitate it because they do not agree with it. However, the decision about where an animal is adopted is the responsible rescue's decision to make and every rescue has its own policies in this regard.
I cannot speak to the personal interaction described in the 10/17 review, except to say that this presents only one side of the scenario. I can speak to my personal experience with all of the admins and this group as a whole. I have found them to be nothing but helpful, encouraging, informative, and educational. In my experience, if one is respectful to the admins, they are very respectful as well. I am not a member of this organization's leadership, but I do co-run one of the rescues that work closely with them and we benefit from their good work. They are a valuable resource in the rescue community and I hate to see them maligned by someone who clearly did not understand the organization they were reviewing.
