My name is Theresa I. S. Banyeh, a third year student of the University for Development Studies (UDS) in the northern region of Ghana offering Doctor of Pharmacy. The value of education is something that I understood at a very young age. My father who had formal education but death took him very early. My mother had a partial opportunity to attend a vocational school and is currently a cleaner at a Polytechnic. My mother made a commitment early in my life to do everything within her power to instill in me a love for formal education, learning and understanding of the importance of hard work and dedication. Because of her love and sacrifice over the years, I have been able to devote the time and energy necessary to attain academic accomplishment even though money was a challenge.

After my Senior High School education, I wondered how my university education was going to be funded by my mother. God being so good, I was awarded a full scholarship on Educational Pathways International (EPI) Scholarship Scheme. I remain grateful to Educational Pathways International (EPI) for the support it has given me. It makes me feel that I am not alone on the journey of accomplishing my educational goals.
EPI has actually transformed my life and that of my family’s from grass to grace.

Because of EPI’s comprehensive financial support of my university education things have changed for the better. I do not think of how to pay my fees. I must also add that this scholarship enabled me to pay my school fees, my accommodation in one of the best halls of residence on campus, acquire books, had stipend and all these greatly relieved me, and I do not think of how and what to eat before and after lectures and the financial burden on my mother has drastically reduced.

Our Program Director has been a mother to us all in so many different ways, and despite her busy schedules, she has always made time to be with us.

I am highly grateful to the sponsors of Educational Pathways International (EPI), for their enormous support by transforming my life and that of my family and for helping me to realize what has been a long term dream of my life and my future rest on solid ground and I intend making the best of this opportunity.
