Review for CRRC of Canyon Lake Inc, Canyon Lake, TX, USA
I serve on the Board of this volunteer organization and I do so because of all the various good works CRRC does for our community. While there is a paid staff to maintain a sense of direction and stability, the vast majority of the efforts are carried out by unpaid volunteers from the community. We are a United Way Agency and receive funds from several different philantropic organizations, but that is not enough to fund the entire effort.....Personal and business donations are extremely important to allow us to conduct programs such as meals on wheels, financial aid assistance, food pantry, senior programs, youth programs, thift store, and certain educational programs aimed at the poor and needy in our community. Once a year just before Christmas, we set-up and build a North Pole Village at our Recreation Center for our younger children to come and enjoy and to visit with "Santa". It is truly a wonderous event, staffed and presnted almost entirely with volunteers for six great nights. A small fee is charged to help defray some costs, but we strive to ensure that all levels of our community can attend. Truly a wonderful deserving organization.

Serving on the Board and seeing the response to increased needs in our community because of the economic turndown. We learned to serve more with less. Great people can accomplish great things.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
The organization is great, but we need to work on ways to increase funding so that services can be expanded to meet the growth in our area and their needs.
