We learned about IDRF 2 1/2 years ago when we were looking for a very specific project in India which we could support with a significant contribution to fulfill the wishes of a deceased relative. Dr. Prakash, CEO of IDRF, was most helpful in identifying projects that would meet our criteria. He provided us with written material of the shortlisted projects which enabled us to make an informed decision. Once the funds were remitted, Dr. Prakash provided us with a detailed budget of how the funds will be applied. He also gave us periodic updates of the progress made. In addition we received emails with pictures from the project manager in India showing the work that has been done and the children who benefited from it.
Both my wife and I worked most of our professional lives in the development field and we are very familiar with the problems faced by folks in developing countries and the issues of providing effective assistance. The staff of the IDRF are highly knowledgeable, motivated and experienced in this field and we have complete trust in them. We are continuing to provide financial assistance to them and will do so in the future. We are so impressed with their work that we have now also included them in our estate plans.
