Review for The Borgen Project, Tacoma, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I recently finished my writing internship with The Borgen Project and I had an amazing time. I enjoyed all the tasks given to me and learning more about global poverty and it is a great opportunity to get your articles published that you can later use for further applications. The team was super friendly as well and whenever I had questions, the manager or somebody else would get back to me within a day to help me out with anything I needed. I loved getting to work on my tasks when I wanted to and when I had the time to do it and it felt amazing to get to be a part of something good. I was a bit afraid of asking my friends and family to contact congress and help me out in other ways at first, but mostly everybody reacted super positively and was happy to support me. The only thing you shouldconsider before applying is how you are going to feel about the fundraiser. The internship requires you to send out donation letters to people and raise a minimum of $500 (although they seemed very reasonable about not quite meeting your goal as long as you were able to show that you put a lot of work into the fundraiser and did your best). If you like to work independently and the fundraising aspect is not an issue for you, you should absolutely go for it!
