Review for Balch Springs Visual and Performing Arts Alliance, Balch Springs, TX, USA
The organization is just three years old but they have already created several programs to serve the community, especially youth and families. In addition to their community productions and their art classes they also work with the Balch Springs Chamber of Commerce in two areas. One is to educate youth age 13--22 through the Balch Springs Young Entrepreneur Program. The second is to partner with the chamber of commerce in planning and implementing community events. The 2010 Cinco de Mayo was a great success in part by the participation of the arts alliance in bringing professional talent as well as our local talent to the stage during the event. The event had a record number of attendees on its first night. The majority of these were families spending quality time at a cultural event. It was awesome!
