There are no words to describe how amazing our experience was at Life Shine Respite Home's majestic and renowned facility! Visiting stunning Key West every year is literally the highlight of our family's year. It keeps our child going through hours of grueling treatment sessions.
In addition to his commitment to this unique organization, Rabbi Wolkenfeld continuously provides moral and financial support to its patients and families. He is a true powerhouse and epitomizes compassion and generosity!
During our recent stay at the house, we encountered a problem with the hot water. After contacting Rabbi Wolkenfeld, he immediately dispatched the right personnel to resolve the problem.
Despite the cooler weather, we did not seem to be concerned about it. As a result, Rabbi Wolkenfeld kept the pool heated to maximum temperatures, thus allowing us to swim in the delicious, sparkling saltwater pool!
Our stay was made as beautiful as possible at no extra cost. On arrival, the house was spotlessly clean and stocked with all the necessary amenities, including appliances, towels, and bedding! Also, the elegant and comfortable furnishings added a special touch of homeliness!
Additionally, there is a large library with a wide selection of great books and DVDs, as well as every bestseller imaginable! Even when it was raining, there was always something to keep us occupied, enjoying, and exploring despite the weather!
It was truly a wonderful and gratifying experience that will remain with us long after our stay. The medical team continues to marvel at the great difference in the child's pulmonary function tests long after we returned home.
We are extremely grateful to Rabbi Wolkenfeld and his wonderful organization for all the kindhearted, selfless work and charitable deeds they have done for our community. We pray that the One Above will truly shower him with an abundance of blessings and success in the years to come!

Words can not express our profound gratitude to Child Life Society & their devoted founder R’Chaim Wolkenfeld! This organization is truly unique in every way & has transformed our lives for the better!! Their unwavering support, vast knowledge of medical resources, free counseling & referrals goes beyond the norm. More importantly & above all are the beautifully, furnished respite homes located in sunny Key West, Florida.

The pure salt water & ocean air are unbelievably healing & provides a natural environment for those seeking respiratory care among other health conditions. But what’s really exclusive is their beautiful respite homes catering to every need possibly imagined. No expense was spared to assure the families lack any necessities from comfy furniture, fully stocked pantry’s, linens & a bookcase lined with variety of books & entertainment. In addition the house includes all medical equipment essential to assist these patients with their required therapy regiment. They even helped pay for all our travel expenses, including a car & provided free sightseeing passes. Everything to make this stay a memorable one!!!

This past summer & autumn found our dear child battling a recurring case of pneumonia while taking strong antibiotics to help fight it. Unfortunately, when that didn’t help & his condition worsened he was suddenly rushed to the hospital & required emergency surgery to help unblock the mucus plug in his lungs. After a couple of harrowing weeks, he was finally discharged & within a short time later, we were on our way to the magical Life Shine Respite Home in Key West, Florida.

It’s amazing to watch how these patients quickly come alive & how little effort it takes for them to exercise, enjoy the spotless, clean salt water pool when normally back home it wouldn’t always be possible & require physical assistance. This is the environment where these precious & innocent children really thrive & if not for the Respite Home, available free of charge, long term accommodations would simply be impossible.

As a fellow parent & a recipient of R’Wolkenfeld’s generosity, I can fully attest how our wonderful experience in Key West has always yielded significant results & enabled our child to truly engage in activities, participate & join his friends at school & benefited his overall health, limiting frequent hospitalizations & illness. Even his medical team are in awe each time anew, at follow up visits upon our return home. It’s amazing to see how the transformation towards their physical health, positively affects their emotional & mental performance as well.

We will forever be grateful & indebted to Child Life Society & their wonderful founder R’Wolkenfeld. Thank you from the depths of our heart & may you continue to succeed in all your significant endeavors!!!
