Jerusalem Peace-Builders offered me an opportunity rarely available to youth. Two weeks with teenagers from different religions and nationalities in conflict was eye-opening and inspiring. JPB cultivated an environment in which Israeli's and Palestinian's were willing to put aside their extremely personal political positions and see the humanity in one another. In this day and age, it is hard to imagine Jews, Muslims, and Christians from across the world developing lifelong friendships, but JPB found a way to bring us together. Through engaging in dialogue and learning how to do so effectively, we became more educated and open young people ready to grow. As father Nicholas always says, "Everyone wants to change the world, no one wants to change themselves," and they certainly taught us how.
