Review for Ninth Street Media Consortium, Inc., San Francisco, CA, USA
I deeply value creativity, education, and diversity because I believe that they are important elements of a healthy society; supporting a strong democracy. Ninth Street Media Consortium is an extraordinary example of how a facility can embody these values. With numerous groups coming together from diverse backgrounds, with various visions and missions, Ninth Street Media Consortium is a home for culturally relevant media.
Since I've been at Ninth Street Media Consortium, we have redistributed approximately a third of the space in our film center, also incorporating a youth media program "TILT," an Exhibitions program, and the Media Arts Incubator residency program, while continuing to maintain IT/equipment support and handle all building management for our media arts partners and tenants. In short, we’ve been busy.
The past few years have been a time of great expansion but this growth is not sustainable without substantial funding. Ninth Street needs your support for our youth media program TILT, the Media Arts Incubator residency program, the Exhibition program and Building Reserve Fund. In particular, we have learned from an Asset Reserve Analysis that Ninth Street needs a more robust reserve fund to be fiscally responsible for the upkeep of our shared home.

communicate to the average person that all the intricacies of what we do at Ninth Street make for an important part of the media arts ecosystem. Sometimes it is difficult for the public to see what we do 'behind the scenes' but that's where a lot of the important work is done.
