We adopted our beautiful boy, Ronin from Goldens Without Borders in October 2020. Ronin is my husband and my first dog together so we spent an excessive amount of time researching and applying to different rescues. Sheila was the only rescue founder who personally answered my phone call and took the time to walk me through the process. I could tell from the very beginning that she was honest, dedicated, and genuinely cared about the dogs and her GWB families.

Ronin was in the first group of commercial flight dogs, which was a learning experience and a test of patience for all! Despite various delays and flight changes, Sheila always kept us updated and raised our spirits.

Adopting Ronin has been the best thing that's ever happened for us! We were ready to deal with any and all lingering trauma, behavioral issues, and health problems - but to our surprise, he has absolutely no issues! Ronin adjusted to life in the U.S. immediately; he's a very quick learner, super smart, and has always been the happiest boy. It's been so rewarding to see him learn how to play with toys, discover how comfortable the couch is, gain a healthy and much needed 20 pounds, and develop the softest, shiniest coat!
