Review for The Goathouse Refuge, Pittsboro, NC, USA
One of my friends recommended I go to the Goathouse to find a companion kitty for my cat Bogey. He and his sister, Belle, were indoor/outdoor cats. One day Belle suddenly disappeared and we never found what happened to her. At the time most shelters would not allow anyone to adopt a cat unless they promised to never let the kitty outdoors. The Goathouse sent someone to visit our house to decide if we would meet their standards. Once the inspector saw the Bogey had nice outdoor screened in porch with a kitty door, a backyard with trees away from traffic to play, a kitty condo and plenty of places to sleep and play inside our house, we passed with flying colors. When I went to pick out our new kitty a cat named Missy picked me. She saw me sitting on a barrel and ran and jumped in my lap. Unfortunately Bogey died several years ago. We still have Missy and another kitty from the Goathouse named Scooter. He is a handsome Tuxendo kitty.
