I am a new volunteer and can't say enough good things about Pelican Harbor Seabird Station and the opportunity it has provided for me. Finding ways to volunteer during COVID have been challenging and this one is perfect. You can volunteer on your own schedule and do as little or as much as you want. After being trained for the Operation Rescue and Release Program, I have been able to participate in both rescuing and releasing. It's such a wonderful feeling to be able to take an injured animal to the clinic for medical treatment and then to watch a rehabilitated animal be set free back into its natural habitat. The Release photo is of a Cooper's Hawk. You can see him smiling as he flies free!
