My Nonprofit Reviews

This review is long overdue but I am in my final year of university, and I just really need to thank the Women's Intercultural Center for changing my life. I am very thankful for meeting Saif and Mary and it was my experience with them that got me through to completing my degree.

First off the program they created was absolutely incredible. I learned a lot about the border and immigration and it was a topic I already thought I knew. The experience was fun, educational, absolutely blew my mind with the connections they have with Border Patrol, CBP, and even politicians. I could have never imagined that this is what my experience would have been. I'm thankful for all they taught me, but I am more thankful for the personal experience they provided to me.

Mary is an incredible leader and the kind of woman I want to be when I grow up. She shows no fear and stands up for what is right. Her life has been an incredible adventure, one you think should be a movie. She educated me to make sure to have my voice heard and not waste my time when I am at the table. I need to speak my voice if I want a change in my community or any issues I care about. She also ensured I understood I needed to understand both sides of the issue and ensuring I work with others that may not agree with my opinion.

Saif, I am extremely grateful to you as well. You taught me to be myself and not be afraid to express my feelings, to show who I am, and you gave me the confidence to not only change my major because I absolutely hated it but the confidence to come out to my parents. Between my major and my parents not knowing about me, I was extremely stressed and depressed. The talks with you, you telling me that my happiness was important above everything else was a lesson I would never forget. You are one of the most amazing people I know
