Dena Sherwood makes Arms Wide Open one of my favorite charities. She secures grants to fund pediatric cancer research. This research is so needed to help secure better outcomes with less toxic side effects for children. But, not only does she work tirelessly to secure funds, she shares stories so we can walk and support families. She has created a community with her efforts and this charity. She supports families on a monthly basis and uses every dollar wisely. In a world where you are not clear if you donations to non-profits have an impact, with Arms Wide Open, I fully trust that every dollar makes a difference.

I got to know Dena by reading the story of her son Billy, "No Retreat, No Surrender". I reached out to her to learn more about what she was doing with Arms Wide Open and became a donor. They fund research and grants, generate awareness for childhood cancer and help struggling families financially. They create care packages and are a supportive community for families. When a friend's granddaughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, Dena was there to help that family. This is an altruistic organization run with love, compassion and support. They do good by children and families and continue to have an impact. They have my vote and support as one of the best non-profits out there.
