I've always been at home in the water. When my brother and I were kids we spent several days a week in the pool which made the two of us natural swimmers and watersport fanatics. At the time it was classic breath holding contests, diving for coins, all of the usual pool games. Eventually we became decent water skiers, but both of us moving to the west coast after college drew us to surfing. Surfing, diving and swimming always brought me back to the little kid in me. The ocean was always a place that let me reset; it helped me clear my mind and remind me of who I was and what brought me joy. One of my favorite ways to spend my time is sharing this joy and freedom with other people in my life. My most epic surf sessions are always when I am able to teach others how to surf and experience the enjoyment that the ocean gives me. My accident and injuries took that away from me. High Fives is helping me get back in the water and helping me share what the ocean gives me with others again soon.
