Review for The Borgen Project, Tacoma, WA, USA
I was a political affairs intern for The Borgen Project last fall. I first discovered The Borgen Project by a simple Google search. I was very interested in being an intern for The Borgen Project because of their incredible goal - to fight global poverty - and the promise of hands-on experience.
I enjoyed the internship very much and felt that I learned a lot from it. I was given the opportunity to create and lead a fundraiser, which was a great learning experience, one that I will take with me in my career. I also got a lot of practice writing to, emailing, and calling Congressional leaders, which initially scared me but I found to be very easy by following The Borgen Project's guides.
I am giving The Borgen Project four stars instead of five because I found that the hands-off approach to management was a little too hands-off. Sometimes I felt that I wanted more guidance on certain issues. Other than that, I found The Borgen Project to be a great organization for a great cause and I am very glad I had the opportunity to be their intern!
