Review for A W O L All Walks of Life Inc, Savannah, GA, USA
In addition to their amazingly well-done arts programs, AWOL has a program that teaches at-risk youth how to build a PC from scratch, diagnose many common errors and problems, and recycle donated computers into working machines that are then placed back into the community. The youth are responsible for not only the technical component of the program, but also communicating basic computer knowledge to recipients of these computers.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
AWOL works by empowering individuals, one person at a time, so the results are really evident in the stories of their students. As another reviewer said, seeing kids live "beyond their potential" is just the best feeling in the world. I and many others in the community have enjoyed the positive and extremely well-done hip-hop, plays and arts endeavors produced by their students.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Find more sustainable funding sources for all of their programs. DaVena and Tony Jordan are exceptional non-profit leaders, with strong business sense and deep personal commitment. I wouldn't change a thing that they're doing - just let 'em do their thing without worrying about money so much!

Jenn!!! Come back home! We miss you so! Thanks for writing such an outstanding review of our organization. The volunteer time that you contributed to the Goon Squad was with out a doubt a major reason for the programs success. A recent as last month we printed up all those nice neat little cards with numbers and such on them for the computer recipients. Its folks like you that rock or world, just when we think the light at the end of the tunnel is a train, we find that it's light, the shining light of people like you, always willing to roll up your sleeves and jump right in! Thank you Jenn! Can't wait to head up to Boston to see you!
