Thirty years ago I attended their program Research Science Institute (RSI) and then served as a counselor the following summer. The experience was transformative for my life and career. Thanks in part to the mentoring I received during those summers (about how to think about and communicate about scientific problems) I'm now a professor of physics at a major university. And over all this time I've kept in touch with my mentor from those summers as well as CEE staff and a number of other campers and counselors.

RSI can accommodate only a limited number of students who already have shown impressive science and math capabilities by junior year of high school. CEE realizes the importance of exposing many more students (including those who had fewer opportunities in school) to serious scientific thinking. Thus, CEE also runs a great program for school teachers, the Teacher Enrichment Program, which has reached thousands of teachers and hundreds of thousands of their students.
