Review for People's Health Clinic, Inc., Park City, UT, USA

Rating: 5 stars

When I was a little girl in Louisiana, my mother showed me that those who had more had to take care of those who had less. One day we were downtown when she saw a man who obviously didn't have enough to eat. She stooped over to talk to him, then went into the nearby diner, and came back to the car. I asked "Mama, what did you say to that man? Why did you go to the restaurant?"She fixed her cat-eyed glasses on me and said, "That man told me he was hungry. So I told him I would give the owner of the diner $20 and he could go there until it was all gone." I know that she would like what the Clinic does for people.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

There is a mistaken perception that the only population served is Latino. My friend's daughter is 26 and needed a precancerous lesion removed. No health insurance but PHC helped her.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I don't see any changes needed. This clinic was started from nothing and has grown into a vibrant facility that serves the under insured and non insured of the tri-county area.

Why did you make your donation at this time?

Instead of donating to a wide range of charities, my husband and I decided to pick 4 local charities to support with larger donations. We wanted to see our donations make a difference to our community. We also wanted a charity that had low overhead, needed funding and used those funds wisely towards causes we cared about personally. Taking care of those who have less is a privilege given to those who have more.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
