Review for St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain, SD, USA
I am a first generation Italian born in this great country. I feel very fortunate to be living here in the wealthiest country on the planet. While I may "only" be middle class in this country, I still believe it is good to share what we have. When looking for charities that support some of the impoverished right here in the USA, I understand that our history as a nation is replete with actions we have taken against minorities for "our" own benefit. While our ideal is freedom as a nation of citizens, we have a long way to go to accomplish this freedom. When I look to see what some of the most aggrieved minorities throughout our history, Native Americans jump out at me. While I'm not comparing our treatment of Native Americans to any other minority, it's easy to see, for me, that as a nation, we owe something back to our brothers who met the Mayflower, especially those that have welcomed us since 1492. I have donated to St. Joseph's Indian School for many years now and am happy that they are educating Native Americans. I am also happy to share my money toward that education. I believe this charity to be an excellent source of what my faith teaches me to do, sharing. And so, I am happy to share some of the things this country has provided me. Educating Native American children is a great start. For any and all of my donations, there has not been a single time when I was not thanked for the kindness. I am grateful to the Lakota children for their gratitude as well as I am happy to share my means. I hope more people find it in their hearts to also share with St. Joseph's Indian School.
